Regional Proposals

Regional programs provide one avenue for addressing some country-level challenges for key populations such as criminalization and political obstacles. While regional programs are intended to be complementary to country-level programs, they are not as beholden to the laws or customs of any one specific nation. They are generally overseen by consortia of civil society, international NGOs, and technical partners, rather than national governments. Additionally, regional programs offer an important way to engage countries that may currently or soon be ineligible for Global Fund grants.

ICASO has been collecting evidence from and supporting the development of regional proposals for several years.
