Technical Support Availability and Gaps for Civil Society in Five Regions

11 Nov 2010

Community and broader civil society groups have distinct needs for developing their organizations, services, advocacy, networking and direct engagement with the Global Fund-related processes. Those needs are as diverse as civil society and its work. This report describes priority areas in which community groups feel the greatest gaps in technical support and capacity building exist. It reviews the technical support available currently and how this could be improved in order to meet the needs of civil society. The review draws on the unique experience of regional groups working to support greater civil society involvement in the Global Fund processes through the Civil Society Action Team (CSAT) in five regions of the world. The document targets an audience consisting of groups which plan, provide and/or fund technical support and capacity building at international, regional and national levels.
