Civil Society and The Global Fund in the MENA Region Grant Performance-CCM Workshop

In the Middle East and North Africa region, civil society organizations still have a
limited input into the AIDS response in the MENA region. Among the reasons for this, is their limited capacity and experience in AIDS prevention, care and support. There is
also considerable reluctance or appreciation on the part of governments to consider a more active contribution of civil society to national efforts. This is in large part a reflection of the status of the situation of the civil society movement in
countries.
