Youth Activities
Deadline for submission: 19 February 2008
Description
Youth activities happen before and during the Conference. Youth activities for AIDS 2008 are still being developed. However, at AIDS 2006 in Toronto they organized by the Youth Coordinator (staff of the Local Host) and the Toronto Youth Force and included: Youth Pre-Conference, Youth Reception, Youth Pavilion in the Global Village, Youth Pocketbook to Navigating International AIDS Conferences, Youth Roadmap of related sessions, Youth Leadership Forum, and Youth Rapporteurs.
Note: At AIDS 2006, youth delegates between the ages of 16 and 18 could attend the Conference but needed parental consent. Those under the age of 16 could attend if accompanied by a chaperone and with parental consent. Delegates applying for an international scholarship needed to be at least 18 years old at the start of the Conference. Decisions about age limits on participation have not yet been finalized for AIDS 2008 in Mexico City.
Remember that not all elements of the Youth Activities Programme in Toronto will be the same in Mexico City. Check the AIDS 2008 website for details.
