Scholarship Applications
Deadline for submission: 26 February 2008
Description
Scholarships are offered to those from resource-constrained environments and to young scientists/researchers. The Conference Coordinating Committee develops criteria that will guide selection. The actual scoring and selection is conducted electronically to avoid personal bias. Full and partial scholarships are offered. Full scholarships include registration fee, travel, accommodation and a per diem. Partial scholarships include one or any combination of those. There are usually a huge number of applicants to the scholarship programme (over 16,000 in 2006 with an expected 20,000 for AIDS 2008).
Note: Although the criteria differ slightly year to year, priority is usually given to people living with HIV, women, youth and those who submit an abstract or Global Village/Cultural programme application.
The LIVING 2008 pre-conference, being held in Mexico City just prior to AIDS 2008, will also offer a scholarship programme for PLHIV that will be linked to the AIDS 2008 Scholarship programme. For more information, check the GNP+ site.
