Report on the Third Regional Consultation 'Community systems strengthening for key affected groups in Eastern Europe and Central Asia'

Meaningful and active participation of most-at-risk populations in combating epidemics of HIV, tuberculosis and malaria is one of the most important factors in making this combat effective. Therefore, to ensure participation of the most-at-risk populations in this process, development and implementation of a community system strengthening strategy is critical.
The Eurasian Harm Reduction Network (EHRN) in the framework of the International "Civil Society in Action Team" Initiative (CSAT) in collaboration with the East Europe and Central Asia Union of PLWH (ECUO) and theInternational Alliance on HIV/AIDS in Ukraine held the Third Regional Consultation "Community systems strengthening for key affected groups in Eastern Europe and Central Asia" on 22-24 August 2011 in Irpen, Ukraine.
A key objective of the consultation was to provide participants with technical assistance in incorporating community systems strengthening (CSS) components in the applications to the Global Fund from EECA countries in Round 11.
